FICI believes innovation should be open to everyone, and so should our website. That commitment matters especially to us as the organization behind Inclusive Innovators.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA across fici.ca, in English and French.
What we’ve built in
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
- Clear headings and structure for screen readers
- Sufficient colour contrast; information never conveyed by colour alone
- No auto-playing or auto-rotating content, and reduced motion whenever your device requests it
- Forms with clear labels, helpful error messages and no visual puzzles (CAPTCHAs)
- Plain language, with technical terms explained
- Captions on every video we publish
Known limitations
Some services we link to are run by others, including Stripe (payments), Skejel and Luma (event registration) and partner websites. We choose providers with accessibility in mind but don’t control their pages. Older documents may not be fully accessible; we’ll provide an accessible version on request.
