Babak Khodaparast is the President of the First Institute of Canadian Inventors and leads the National Inventors’ Team of Canada, helping Canadian inventors and entrepreneurs bring their innovations to the world stage.
An entrepreneur driven by building, ideating and inventing, Babak founded Clean Oil International, a Canadian clean-tech company developing autonomous oil-skimming technology. He is an experienced chief executive in the clean-tech and oil sectors and an active business developer.
In 2026, he was appointed Director of IFIA’s Department of Social Innovation & Community Development, a department presented to IFIA by FICI. He has also served as a judge for MIT Solve’s Global Challenges.
